Aziz Ansari Essentials

Born in South Carolina in 1983, Aziz Ansari began doing standup while in college. While honing his craft on the road, he developed a comedic approach centered on his life experiences, twisted around with his self-deprecating and sardonic wit. In 2005, Ansari formed comedy troupe Human Giant with Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer, and their MTV sketch show of the same name developed a cult following. Ansari's breakthrough role as the lovably ambitious Tom Haverford on the sitcom Parks and Recreation brought him a mainstream audience, while his standup work evolved in a thoughtful, socially conscious direction.
