Asylum Records: '70s
Apple Music
David Geffen captured the Laurel Canyon zeitgeist in 1971 when he started his own label, Asylum Records: even the name spoke to the "back to the garden" vibe. Although big hits by the Eagles, Jackson Browne and Joni Mitchell defined Asylum's '70s sound, cult heroes like Judee Sill, Tom Waits and Warren Zevon added depth and weirdness to the roster.
