Beginning in the mid-'80s with Anthrax, related projects S.O.D. and M.O.D. and such other platoons as Nuclear Assault, Overkill and Carnivore, Alex Perialas helped shape the subway-brawler sound of Mid-Atlantic thrash and crossover metal. It wasn't long before bands from elsewhere—including California punks, Bad Religion—put his sterling skills to use as well.
