4Hero Essentials

Consisting of Marc Mac and Dego, the London duo of 4Hero have been dropping innovative breakbeat sounds since the tail end of the rave era. Having helped pioneer drum 'n' bass music, 1995's Parallel Universe endures as a classic of the form, while 1998's Two Pages took the genre in a melodic direction with the addition of sweeping strings and jazz-inspired grooves. Embracing the style of the nu-jazz and broken beat scenes, 2001's Creating Patterns continued to expand their sound, with neo-soul star Jill Scott and folk legend Terry Callier providing guest vocals.
