Thee Headcoatees

About Thee Headcoatees

The creation of rabble-rousing garage punk asthete Billy Childish, Thee Headcoatees (originally dubbed the Delmonas), were a female-fronted corollary to Childish’s own group, Thee Headcoats. They debuted in 1991 with GIRLSVILLE; an album that bore Childish’s rough-and-tumble aesthetic. While Childish continued to write and produce a majority of the group’s material, the gals eventually took on a life of their own, ending their decade-long run on a high note with 1999’s HERE COME’S CESSATION. Vocalist/guitarist Holly Golightly eventually went on to solo success and collaborations with the White Stripes and the Brokeoffs.
