Tasmanian duo Sumner crafts R&B-inspired electronic music that is influenced by Lorde, Kanye West, and Frank Ocean. The Launceston-based pair of Chloe Wilson and Jack McLaine met through mutual friends, exchanging music as a means of introduction. Once they started collaborating, they formed Sumner and began building an audience with live shows supporting acts like Vera Blue and Wil Wagner. Their debut single, "Pictures," arrived in 2018. With hypnotic atmospherics and yearning lyrics, the song was the first offering from their debut EP, All That I Am. The four-song set was self-produced by Sumner and mixed by Kevin "KD" Davis (Rihanna, TLC, Destiny's Child). ~ Neil Z. Yeung
