Sam Gooris

About Sam Gooris

Flemish pop vocalist Sam Gooris (born in Bonheiden, 1973) first found fame when he won 1989's Soundmixshow as Shakin' Stevens. Three years later, he scored his biggest hit with "Marijke," which was followed by his self-titled debut album, 1994's Kom Terug, and 1995's Laat Het Gras Maar Groeien. Gooris then spent most of the 2000s concentrating on TV and film, starring in reality show De Pfaffs and appearing in 2006's Plop in de Stad, and 2012's K3 Bengeltjes. But after a 16-year-absence, he returned to the pop scene with a mixture of Dutch and Flemish covers for 2011's Ambiance in de Lage Landen. ~ Jon O'Brien
