About Roni Size

A Bristol native with Jamaican roots, Roni Size was a major player in the U.K. rave and party scene in the 1990s. His innovative mixing of reggae and jazz added a sophisticated world flavor to his take on drum'n'bass. Size added vocals and live drumming to create the Reprazent collective, and the group's 1997 album New Forms won the coveted Mercury Prize. Though the rock and hip-hop crossover attempts in Reprazent's second album were not as successful, Size continued to be a prominent player in the electronica world, and still in demand in the 21st century.
