About Mocedades

Spanish vocal group Mocedades were formed in 1967 by four young students from Bilbao. Inspired by folk music and songs by the Beatles, they started a band called Voces y Guitarras, later named Mocedades. The group made history in 1973 when it came in second place at Eurovision with the song "Eres Tú," followed soon after by a second smash hit, "Tómame o Déjame." In 1980, Mocedades signed with CBS and began working with producer Oscar Gómez. While the band later experienced significant lineup changes, its remaining members maintained Mocedades as an ongoing endeavor and were able to avoid breaking up the group. ~ Drago Bonacich
