John Novacek

About John Novacek

John Novacek is an American pianist who is the winner of the Leschetizky and Joanna Hodges international piano competitions. He plays solo recitals and concerts. As a chamber musician and accompanist he has worked with such artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, and Leila Josefowicz. Novacek has premiered the works of John Adams, John Harbison, Jennifer Higdon, and John Zorn and he has composed his own works, including Hog Wild, Cockles, and Melancholy Drag. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Wigmore Hall. Novacek has released efforts such as Kindred Spirits (2008), Stone and Steel, and Antheil: Sonatas for Violin and Piano (2011).
