In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Growing up in a Filipino household, I've always sung karaoke. When I was practicing for my first school singing competition as a kid, I sang at a family friend's garage doing a full-on choreographed performance with a little hat by my feet for money. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? ABBA, ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits Ben Howard, I Forget Where We Were Miley Cyrus, Bangerz (Deluxe Version) I used to walk around high school with my mum's old Walkman. My favourite album was Miley Cyrus' Bangerz. When I got my drivers license, I was obsessed with surfing and going on road trips. I always played my ABBA and Ben Howard CDs on the road. Tell us why you chose this song. “My Body Is Mine” I wrote this song as a mantra for other survivors like me as a reclamation of power and bodies. This song featured on RNZ's "The Collective" docu-series which followed me on my journey towards healing and self-love. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? After placing 1st in the solo/duo category of Smokefree Rockquest 2016, I've been on RNZ's "The Collective", Attitude, and Neighbourhood documentary series for my activism in sexual trauma recovery, youth mental health, and LGBTI+ rights. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? You'll have to watch this space and see what else I've got in store for you.
