GARNET CROW

About GARNET CROW

Soon after meeting at Osaka's Giza Studio, the members of Garnet Crow recorded an EP, First Soundscope, which went on to become a strong indie hit. Though remaining in the basic format of a J-pop band, Garnet Crow have gained both loyalty and critical acclaim by expanding their musical range; their sound is further distinguished by lead vocalist Yuri Nakamura, whose voice is deeper than the stereotypically high-pitched vocals of most J-pop singers. A long string of theme songs and singles enabled the band to achieve success soon after its formation, although full albums have also consistently charted well. Released in 2008, Locks became one of Garnet Crow's largest hits, debuting on the Oricon charts at number four. ~ Adam Greenberg
