About Drew Green

Country singer/songwriter Drew Green initially set out to see his name in album credits, not on a marquee. But when his vocal talents turned out to be as impressive as his writing, he made the jump from songwriter for the stars to recording artist in his own right. Green grew up in a city about 75 miles outside of Nashville, where he spent a lot of time listening to the likes of Alan Jackson and Sammy Kershaw as well as Dr. Dre and Usher, and his own style eventually reflected all those influences. One of his first gigs in Nashville was working as the singer for the house band at the legendary Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. But his real foot-in-the-door moment came when he co-wrote the drinkers’/stoners’ anthem “Colorado” for Florida Georgia Line’s 2019 No. 1 Country album Can’t Say I Ain’t Country. That was enough to nab Green a publishing contract, but no sooner did he start hunkering down to write for other artists than he got grabbed up by Sony for a record deal of his own. The first fruits of that deal arrived with the slow-rolling, R&B-inflected 2020 single “Little More Be Alright”. Later in the year, Green shared more of himself on the DIRT BOY Vol. 1 EP, on which his blend of country, hip-hop and R&B influences intertwined with his eye for lyrical detail and his deep, Tennessee twang to announce the arrival of an artist to be reckoned with.
