A musical love letter from one island to another, Stir It Up collects tracks from 15 Maorian reggae bands paying their respects to Jamaican legend Bob Marley. These homages live up to the album's title, with Tiki Taane stirring up a furious, double-time breakbeat in “Get Up Stand Up”, but Stir It Up also finds new wrinkles in these classics. Laughton Kora cloaks “I Shot the Sheriff” in a dreamy reverie, while singer Aaradhna adds heart-wrung soul to “Could You Be Loved”.
