Animal Boy

Animal Boy

With internal tension adding a new dimension to the group’s process, this is the first album where lead singer Joey takes a step back, opening the door for Dee Dee to write and sing more. The result is the political mixed with the playful: the Ronald Reagan–criticising “Bonzo Goes to Bitburg” and the delightfully weird “Apeman Hop”, complete with fuzzy hardcore guitars and loopy jungle noises the band members made using their own mouths. They're adults here, still making punk like (and for) teens.
