“In the coming year, may everyone realise their dreams and passionately love life,” Will Pan tells Apple Music. For the Taiwan-based singer, 2023 was a year filled with these experiences, including celebrating a belated wedding with his wife (after officially tying the knot in 2020). Love was clearly on his mind when he curated his 2024 Chinese New Year playlist. “To pick a theme song, I’d choose one full of life—like my own single ‘狂愛’ [‘Mad Love’],” he says. “I hope that in the new year, we’ll all love the people, situations and objects around us with wild abandon.” Other passionate picks include Jacky Cheung’s classic ballad “每天愛你多⼀些” (“Love You More Each Day”), A-Yue Chang’s “愛我別⾛” (“Love Me, Don’t Go”) and Rainie Yang’s sweeping “⾬愛” (“Rain Love”). His playlist is rounded out with more recent favourites—including Coldplay’s “Biutyful” and “The Dark Plum Sauce” by Li Ronghao. “I particularly recommend tracks that combine pop elements with distinctive rhythms,” he says. “I want to give people a new listening experience.”
