Psyched Up Janis Essentials

Before Sune Rose Wagner found success with the retro rock 'n' roll of The Raveonettes (alongside fellow Dane Sharin Foo), he was channelling his dark romanticism into this underappreciated outfit. At times quiet and tender, at others rambunctious and over the top, Psyched Up Janis took as much influence from film noir aesthetics and the writing of Jack Kerouac as they did from the likes of Neil Young and The Smashing Pumpkins. It all coalesced to create a glorious storm of sound that brims with teenage heart, hopeless abandon and some phenomenal riffs.
