Labradford Essentials

Labradford Essentials

Formed in Virginia in the early '90s, Labradford began their career playing slow, atmospheric songs that owed a debt to the dark, noisy underpinnings of groups like Spacemen 3 and early Sonic Youth. Over the next decade, the trio's music became more instrumental and more expansive with each album, emphasising drones and atmospherics that felt closer to experimental film scores than indie rock. After releasing six albums, the group went on hiatus in 2001, with its members going on to forge solo careers and collaborate with like-minded acts such as Gregor Samsa.
