Jamie Jones Essentials

As dance music took over the global mainstream in the late 2000s and early 2010s, Jamie Jones emerged as one of its underground stars. Alongside his Hot Creations record label, the DJ-producer (born in 1980 in Wales) helped usher in a new house music sound: deep, minimal and muggy, equally suited to darkened clubs and sunset rooftop parties. Tracks such as the hazy “Summertime” (2009) and Jones’ 2011 remix of Azari & III’s “Hungry for the Power” are hallmarks of that era, though he continued to play with all shades of house in the years ahead: delirious tech on “Bappi” (2019), alluring house pop on “Messing With Magic” (2019) and euphoric disco house on “My Paradise” (2022). No rules, just groove.
