If you prefer your metal to be the embodiment of pure evil, dive headlong into the wicked hellfire of Norway's Gorgoroth. Masterminded since 1992 by guitarist and occasional bassist/drummer/vocalist Infernus, they are the epitome of black metal in opposition to Christianity. Their lyrics are kept secret but the titles set their agenda: “Human Sacrifice”, “Possessed (By Satan)” and “The Devil Is Calling.” Yet there's nothing rote about their frequently dense and brittle sound.
