Although they borrowed their band name from an Iggy Pop song, DumDum Boys make a dynamite case for rock sung proudly in their native Norwegian. They started as a punk band called Wannskrækk but by their debut album Blodig Alvor (Na Na Na Na) in '88 they'd altered their trajectory, favouring contemplative ballads and anthemic choruses. Albums like 1990's Pstereo, Transit in 1992, and 2012's Ti Liv defined the band's boisterous guitar riffs, although their sound is equally equipped with keyboards, tambourines and bluesy harmonica.
