In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My grandma used to tell me that from as soon as I could talk, I was singing. She often heard me sing as I fell asleep and knew I was finally asleep when the singing got quiet. In the morning, she would hear my little voice and new I was awake. These artists have been so influential in both the unique quality of their voice as well as the content of their lyrics. Tell us why you chose this song. “Fighting” I wrote this song about a dear friend of mine who was battling with mental illness. As hard as it was, I was inspired by their strength and cherished the ability to support them. Regardless of what you go through, it is better to do it together.
