Pablo Urbina

Pablo Urbina is active as a conductor and French hornist, his first instrument. He has conducted orchestras in his native Spain, in Britain, and beyond. At 17, Urbina won a scholarship contest at a summer music camp that enabled him to travel to the U.S. It was during this period that Urbina began to experiment with conducting. In 2013, Urbina became the music director of the London City Orchestra, remaining in that post until 2019. In 2020 and 2021, he served as the assistant conductor of the Balearic Symphony Orchestra in Spain under Pablo Mielgo. In 2024, Urbina was one of two conductors featured in a Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra release devoted to the music of composer Dani Howard, to whom he is married.
