Musician for hire Randy Smith enjoyed a 15-year career as a professional sideman before he joined the Houston outfit Landslide in the early '90s. Their hard rocking honky tonk has been one of the live highlights of the Southern rock scene. Smith's self-promotional efforts have aided the band to find national exposure. Despite their growing success, Smith still ran a website through the late '90s into the next century promoting his availability as a sideman, even promoting Landslide to be hired out as a backing band. ~ Bradley Torreano
