In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Being from where I'm from I wasn't allowed to feel. Too many times have I witnessed emotions being the root of what gets one of my cousins murdered. But that didn't change my nature, so I turned to music as an outlet for the frustrations I endured. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 50 Cent, Get Rich or Die Tryin Eminem, The Marshall Mathers LP J. Cole, 2014 Forest Hills Drive These artists shaped who I am in Hip-Hop and replaced the father figure I didn't have. Eminem taught me to be myself, 50 Cent taught me not to be ashamed of my roots, and J. Cole taught me how to find my peace in myself. Tell us why you chose this song. “Pride” This song is probably one of the first songs it all started to make sense to me. Instead of making music to be accepted I learned how to accept myself. Instead of trying to hide who I am I started to love myself more for who I am.
