About King Creosote

King Creosote is the name used by acclaimed Scottish singer/songwriter Kenny Anderson whose vast catalog of work has encompassed folk, indie rock, ambient, and various forms of experimental pop. Hailing from the seaside council of Fife, Anderson was the lynchpin of a burgeoning local scene that also included artists like James Yorkston and KT Tunstall who joined him as part of the Fence Records collective. As King Creosote, Anderson established himself as a prolific D.I.Y. artist, hybridizing his unique take on indie folk and rock on mid-2000s albums like KC Rules OK and Bombshell. 2011's Diamond Mine, in collaboration with electronic producer Jon Hopkins was nominated for the Mercury Award and he found further acclaim for his 2014 documentary soundtrack From Scotland With Love. After a lengthy gap, King Creosote returned in 2023 with the sprawling and eclectic I DES.
