About Alexander von Mehren

Norwegian songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Alexander Von Mehren grew up studying classical piano. By his teenage years he was writing songs and learning how to play various instruments. While enrolled at the University of Bergen, Von Mehren began work on his debut album. Though some songs were written as early as 2001 (when he was still just 16), the intricate and meticulous recording process stretched from 2005 to 2012 and included contributions from members of Orwell, Jaga Jazzist, and the High Llamas. While working on his album of airy orchestrated pop highly inspired by '60s and '70s library music, Von Mehren also contributed to arrangements and recordings for Chris Joss, Young Dreams, and Sondre Lerche. Aéropop finally saw international release in 2013. ~ Fred Thomas
