Early Hours can mean a few different things: Are you winding down after being up all night, or are you just rising to meet the sun? The LA DJ/producer Introspekt says her contribution to Apple Music's Early Hours mix series was inspired by transitional moments—“intermissions between the rave and the after-hours.” She describes the theme of her selections as “echoes of the night”, a sampling of the sort of sounds that reverberate around her brain for hours, long after she’s left the party. “I find that continuing the music helps calm my brain as I try to wind down and sleep or just chill,” she says. Among her favourite tracks here are Bored Lord’s “Women’s Wisdom”, Mala’s “Changes (Remix)” (a track she’s loved since she was a teenager) and Visionist’s “Secrets”, which she calls “one of those tracks that really makes you focus inward”.
