BLØF Essentials
With thick flurries of Japanese taiko drumming and otherworldly Swahili R&B—and everything in-between explored over a decades-long career—BLØF wear the many influences of their ever-evolving pop-rock on their sleeves. Although plinking keyboards, dulcet strings and Paskal Jakobsen's operatic vocal range typify the Dutch band's music, their versatility is apparent across their prolific oeuvre. On "Dichterbij Dan Ooit", keening guitars deliver an impassioned eulogy to a lost bandmate, whereas the lilting country-pop of love song "Open Je Ogen" easily melts the hardest of hearts.
