Anaïs Essentials

A wickedly funny songwriter noted for dead-on impersonations of such singers as Carla Bruni, Shakira and Joni Mitchell, Grenoble-born Anaïs Croze kicked off her solo career in 2003. The Cheap Show, as she called her project, consisted simply of Anaïs, a guitar and a looping pedal. Anaïs sings her quick-witted, good-spirited and stylistically eclectic music in French and English, addressing love, solitude, and racism along the way. Hip-hop master Dan the Automator produced her second collection, The Love Album, and her 2014 album Hellno Kitty took jabs at globalisation and Cher.
