Marjorie Lammerts, aka BYentl, is a Surinam-born, Netherlands-raised vocalist who has crossed a number of styles and genres, including retro-soul, house, gospel, and pop. As BYentl, she released her first album, Memories, in 2009. Released in 2010, Payday was considerably more successful, as was 2011's Persistence. By the end of 2013, she had placed several singles -- including "Nowhere to Run," "Payday," "Maniac in Love," and "Unbreakable Hearts" -- within the Top Ten of the Nederlandse Top 40 pop chart. ~ Andy Kellman
