With Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer was a founding member of The Wailers, one of the most important acts in reggae history. His sweet tenor harmony was a key element of the group's sound as it evolved from Jamaican-style R&B in the ‘60s to their hugely successful Rastafarian period in the ‘70s. Wailer and Tosh left the group at the height of its popularity to pursue solo careers; Wailer would adopt elements of pop, dancehall and rockers for his LPs, which earned three Grammys between 1991 and 1997. He died on 2 March 2021 at the age of 73.
