About Mario Ancillotti

Flutist Mario Ancillotti has collaborated with various major musicians as an orchestral player, soloist, and chamber musician. After graduation, Ancillotti landed a place with the RAI Orchestra in Rome. He also performed with the Accademia di Santa Cecilia Orchestra. In 1979, Ancillotti resigned his orchestral positions to devote full time to solo performance and chamber music. His career as a recording artist stretches back to the early digital era; one early release appeared in 1993 and was devoted to flute-and-piano works by Carl Reinecke, Julius Rietz, and Bernhard Molique. In 2024, he recorded the complete music for flute and piano by composer Mel Bonis. Ancillotti is a prominent educator who has taught at conservatories in Rome, Florence, and the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, as well as giving master classes and seminars around Europe, the Americas, and East Asia.
