About Gareth Wilson

Gareth Wilson is a versatile figure in British choral music who teaches at Cambridge University, has conducted several important British choirs, and has composed many pieces for Anglican worship. He has also studied theology and philosophy and is interested in the relationship of these disciplines to music. In 2012, Wilson became a professor at the Royal College of Music. He also became the Director of Chapel Music and joined the music faculty at Girton College, Cambridge. He was named the acting director of the Chapel Choir at King's College, London, making his recording debut in 2016 there with the album In Memoriam. He has made several more albums with the Choir of Girton College, Cambridge, including a release of works by Monteverdi's teacher, Marc'Antonio Ingegneri, in 2020. Two more albums of music by Ingegneri appeared in 2022 and 2023.
