Corneille knows about tragedy. Born in Germany and raised in Rwanda, where his parents were killed in the 1994 genocide, Cornelius Nyungura settled in Montreal in 1997. He found an outlet for his pain in R&B, pouring heart and soul into his debut, Parce qu'on vient de loin, and becoming a star in France with his undeniably infectious, autobiographical tales of struggle. Love is also a running theme in his music, providing a balm for the singer's troubled past while lifting him to new creative heights.
