About Zezinho

Zezinho wrote the famous ""Samba Fantástico." He began his formal studies of music at 14. In 1934, he was hired as clarinetist by the Banda de Música Municipal de Cafelândia. Having moved to São Paulo in 1937, he worked in the Rádio Bandeirante, Rádio Record, and Cassino São Vicente, in Santos. In February 1944, he moved to Rio de Janeiro where he was hired by the Cassino Copacabana. In Rio, he executed Artie Shaw's "Clarinet Concerto" and Benny Goodman's "The Clarinet King." Later, he was hired by Rádio Tupi and continued performing concerts. ~ Alvaro Neder
