In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Gig nights at a Johannesburg club called the Abelarde Sanction and performing at the Oppikoppi rock festival. As a band the Brixton Moord & Roof Orkes emerged out of the underground music scene of Johannesburg in the 2000s, in the suburb of Brixton. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bernoldus Niemand, Wie is Bernoldus Niemand? Johannes Kerkorrel en die Gereformeerde Blues Band, Eet Kreef! Koos Kombuis, Niemandsland and Beyond! James Phillips (a.k.a. Bernoldus Niemand), Johannes Kerkorrel, and Koos Kombuis (a.k.a. Andre Letoit) were the key figures in Afrikaans music that resisted apartheid. Willem Moller, who was part of the Gereformeerde Blues Band, masters our albums. The song remains a crowd favourite and the band is proud to say that a number of fans have reported receiving speeding fines while listening to the song in their cars.
