The Bootsy Collins Show

If you were under the assumption that a radio show captained by legendary bassist, singer and arbiter of culture Bootsy Collins would be funky—well, you're not wrong. But you're also only half right. The man known as Bootzilla will of course be sharing funk from some of his favourite acts both new and old, but his vision for The Bootsy Collins Show is much bigger than any one sound. “I think right about now, we as people really need our feelings uplifted," Collins tells Apple Music. "And I think the music that we got together and have chosen to put in this show, it's uplifting. It makes people feel good. You can get healing. Your body aches and you put your hand on the radio—let the vibes flow through. And it don't matter how old you are, it don't matter what colour you are. Funk don't care. Funk don't give a funk! “Funk has always been making something out of nothing. That's what funk is. That's what we do as athletes. That's what we do as entertainers, musicians—we take what we got and learn to get forward with it. And that's what funk is.”
