Mantra of the Cosmos

A supergroup of Britpop veterans, Mantra of the Cosmos finds former Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder and his trusty lieutenant Bez teaming with guitarist Andy Bell and drummer Zak Starkey, two musicians who once served in Oasis; the Fall's Brix Smith was later added as bassist. On their two first singles, "Gorilla Guerilla" and "X (Wot You Sayin?)," Mantra of the Cosmos revived the kaleidoscopic dance-rock of the 1990s, leaning more toward Black Grape than (What's the Story) Morning Glory.
