Brothers Muhammad and Abdullah Adel share Sufi mystical odes and songs of praise as lead munshids in Amman—as well as being sought-after global exponents of spiritual Islamic singing. Dedicated to “reviving the art of Inshad”, they release masterly, rhapsodic chants such as those assembled in their 2016 album The Mantle of Praise, a collection of stripped-back, percussion-heavy hymns of ecstatic emotion and wisdom. Live recordings during Mawlid also capture The Adel Brothers as they deliver a cappella Quran recitations and vibrant poems in honour of the Prophet Muhammad.
