Since releasing her debut album in 1979, Marina Lima has gone on to become one of the most prominent female voices in Brazilian pop-rock. Her major breakthrough came in 1984 with the best-selling album Fullgás, which included hit singles “Me Chama”, the upbeat “Fullgás” and “Mesmo Que Seja Eu”. Lima fuses soft rock rhythms with blues, bossa nova, melancholic samba melodies and pop choruses. Her vocal range enables her to deliver haunting ballads like “Pessoa”, as well as moody, electronic, as on “No Escuro”.
