Tristan Hallis’ stage name belies his approach to electronic music: DJ BORING is anything but. The Australian-born, London-based artist explores old-school house, techno and trance with regular forays into rolling funk and disco. Following overnight success with his 2016 track “Winona”, he began drawing from different electronic eras and scenes, with examples of Chicago house and Belgian techno in the mix. The likes of “For Tahn” and “Like Water” vibrate with ideas, from choppy drum loops to atmospheric synth pads and wandering tempos that make an eclectic, electrifying treat for the dance floor.
