In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up in a house where music has been my dad's job and love for life. As the owner of a beautiful studio in Madrid called SantaRosa and the drummer for Los Secretos, my earliest musical memories are too many to count but always around him. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bon Iver, 22, A Million Esperanza Spalding, Esperanza Jorge Drexler, Salvavidas de hielo I chose these three albums carefully as they represent the most influential parts of my artist project, Esperanza brings the love for soul and jazz; Jorge Drexler, the power of poetry and lyrics; and Bon Iver, the freedom I seek in my production. Tell us why you chose this song. “Behind the Mirror” This song is my way to remember how much I want to be able to treat myself with the compassion, empathy, love and understanding I have for those I love. Looking at the mirror and the person standing behind, the one we forget to treat like a friend. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Studying at the Abbey Road Institute and getting to know people I admire so much, learning from them that what I do might not be a mistake and that I should push my knowledge and love for this art until barriers become excuses, optional. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Getting to play a theatre where people sing the messages I wrote, understanding that feelings are not lonely, but a shared expression of a communities pain and dreams, feeling the embrace of people who through music, understand you in the distance.
