About Mark Carson

Mark Carson has been an active member in the New Orleans and Louisiana Music scene since the 80's. He began by playing with the award winning group, The Murmurs, for the greater part of that time. He founded the group and wrote many of their songs. In the late 90's he formed the Mark Carson Band with the following members. Timmy Baudier, is also a veteran of the New Orleans music scene. He has been playing in local bands since he was fifteen. He writes some of the music for the band, and his harder edge rock-pop style complements Mark Carson's more pop oriented material. Robert May is an amazing artist on both guitar and bass. He was classically trained on guitar, and has played with many bands on the bass, including the Rhythm & Blues funk group, Rumboogie. He was the newest addition to the band, and his strong voice has added greatly to the many vocal harmonies that spice up the Mark Carson Band's sound. Rick Rooney and Charles Brewer are also former members of The Murmurs. They form the rhythm section of the Mark Carson Band. Rick Rooney is a fine bassist and vocalist, and lends his talents to strengthen the group. Charles Brewer, since leaving The Murmurs, has played many different styles of music, from Fusion, Funk, Zydeco and Blues. This versatility and experience make him one of the best drummers around. Charles Brewer's drumming aids the band's music attain "attitude." They feel very fortunate to have him. The Mark Carson Band sound has elements of many different styles, but may be primarily classified as pop-rock music. It has been called by some as "acoustic rock," because both Mark Carson and Robert May often play acoustic guitars onstage. Timmy Baudier's songs have more of a rock flavor, and they display very well his talents on guitar. Together these entertaining and talented individuals make up a band that knows how to get and keep the house rocking. ~ Larry Belanger
