About Mahogany Lox

Singer Mahogany Lox is a pop artist and actress who first gained audiences' attention as a star on social media. Since her initial emergence in 2014, she has released a number of original songs including 2015's "Boom" and 2019's "Take Your Man." Named after Diana Ross' titular character in the 1975 film Mahogany, Mahogany Lox (nee Mahogany Cheyenne Gordy) was born in 1994 in Detroit. Raised in a musical and business-minded family, Lox is the daughter of Berry Gordy IV and Valerie Robson, and the granddaughter of famed Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, Jr. Her brother is Skyler Gordy (aka SkyBlu of LMFAO). As a child, Lox was drawn to performing and eventually began posting videos and other content online. Her profile expanded in 2014 when she joined the social media tour Magcon. Also that year, she began releasing cover songs as well as her own original pop songs, including "Jealous" and "Paper Hearts." Another track, "Boom," arrived in 2015 and went viral, eventually picking up over 1.2 million views online. That same year she was invited to tour with the all-female pop outfit Fifth Harmony. In 2018, Lox appeared as case model 13 on Season Five of the NBC game show Deal or No Deal. On the heels of that appearance, she released the song "No Deal." The following year, she returned with the song "Take Your Man." ~ Matt Collar
