Partypocalypse

Partypocalypse

Three decades on and canonical South African rock band Springbok Nude Girls still hold a unique place and space within a scene that’s much changed since their inception in the early ’90s. Encapsulating the craziness of our times, their new 13-track album Partypocalypse, the last studio release featuring the original band line-up, is underpinned by the vividly lucid lyrics created by their enigmatic frontman, Arno Carstens, who also painted the chaotic collage-like artwork featured on the album’s cover. Recorded and mixed by guitarist Theo Crous at his critically lauded Bellville Studios, the production brings the tracks to life alongside frenzied riffs (“Emerging Submarines”, “Best Friends, Best Enemies”), rollicking drumming (“Rolling Thunder”) and Carstens’ unique warbling timbre (“Crystal Ball”).
