La Lupita Essentials

La Lupita set themselves apart with their refreshingly smart lyrics and buckets of irreverent attitude on their successful 1992 debut, Pa' Servir a Ud. The band's sound—male and female vocals intertwined over Latin folk, rock and a smattering of funk and disco rhythms—was an electric new twist on Spanish-language alt-rock. This introduction pays homage to their longevity, with La Lupita lasting well into the ‘10s. Their danceable glam beats, energetic rockabilly and heavy-duty guitars—all executed with a healthy dose of humour—simply celebrate the joy of rock.
