Tropical, salsa, cumbia, EDM or electro: Bomba Estéreo make both their native Colombian and Western rhythms burst with vibrant colour. Since 2005, the group have evolved from a DJ collective helmed by producer Simón Mejía to one of their country's most adventurous pop acts. “Huepajé” is a heady mix of earthy cumbia and spacey effects, while “Bailar Conmigo” wraps its slinky percussion in starburst-bright dub. And the club-heating blast of “Ponte Bomb” reveals frontwoman Liliana Saumet putting a sassy and psychedelic spin on “Pump Up the Jam”.
