About Phnx

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a band, we're from very different backgrounds, so the process of teaming up for PHNX involved listening to each other's influences. We found trip-hop to be the intersection of Vishnu's industrial rock darkness and my Rap-House edge. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Benga, Diary of an Afro Warrior Lamb, Fear of Fours Massive Attack, Protection Massive Attack's 'Protection' is the blueprint for our music. We love the vibe, the darkness, the melodies. We love Lamb's jungle and drum & bass influences in their early trip-hop. Benga's raw and chill dubstep is also influential to us. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Seeing 'Save Me' suddenly trending organically on streaming platforms completely took us by surprise. The release wasn't planned, but rather just an impulse, following the Universe's breadcrumbs. Releasing it was scary since the lyrics are so honest. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We're just getting started. And our music is as much a selfless act of service, to provide comfort to those who struggle figuring this life out, as it's a personal process of exploring authentic self-expression and being vulnerable sharing emotions.
