British comedian and actor Eddie Izzard is known for a fluid meld of playful and pointed observational humor, often embellished with surreal imagery and delivered in a stream of consciousness style. An overachiever on several fronts, she has performed standup in a half-dozen languages and run well over 100 marathons, many on consecutive days for charity. She followed her first comedy special, 1993's Live at the Ambassadors, with such classics as the Billboard comedy chart-topping Glorious (1997) and Emmy-winning Dress to Kill (1998). Meanwhile appearing on-stage (Broadway's A Day in the Death of Joe Egg), on TV (The Riches, Hannibal), and in films (1998's Velvet Goldmine, 2004's Ocean's Twelve, 2011's Cars 2), her tenth comedy show, 2013's Force Majeure, toured five continents.
